Your content and ownership
You own your resume, the job descriptions you paste, and the tailored output GroundedResume produces from them. We do not claim ownership of any of it.
To provide the service you grant us a limited licence to process that content: to send it to our AI provider to generate your tailored resume, and to store it in your account history when “Save my work to history” is turned on. Two other stores are covered by the same licence and described in our Privacy Policy: a resume you explicitly save to your resume library is kept until you delete it, whatever that setting says, and generated results are held in a temporary cache for up to 24 hours. That licence exists only to run the service, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
We do not use your content to train AI models and we do not sell it. Our AI provider processes it under commercial terms that do not permit training on it.
Acceptable use
You agree to use GroundedResume to present your real experience. You must not use it to fabricate qualifications or knowingly misrepresent your background. See our Ethical Use & Truthfulness policy.
Termination and suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaches the acceptable-use rules above, in particular using the service to fabricate qualifications or misrepresent someone's experience. Where the breach is not serious we will contact you first. You can close your account at any time from your account settings, which erases your content as described in our Privacy Policy.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
Plans, credits & billing
- Paid plans and credit purchases are billed through our payment processor.
- Credits are consumed per run as described in the app; some modes cost more.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription from the billing page at any time.
Refunds and cancellation
If you are not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of a payment and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. When a refund is issued your subscription ends at that point and your account returns to the Free plan, including any unused credits from that billing period. You can cancel at any time from your billing page. Cancelling stops future charges and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Data retention
We keep the content you submit — resumes, job descriptions and generated results — for as long as your account exists, unless you delete individual runs, delete your history, or turn off saving to history. When you delete your account, that content and your personal details are erased, and anonymised billing records are retained as described in our Privacy Policy. Cached copies of generated results expire within 24 hours.
Changes to the service
We may change, add, or remove features. If we discontinue the service or a paid plan we will give you notice and refund any period you have paid for but not received.
No guarantees
The service improves resume clarity, ATS compatibility, and job alignment. It does not guarantee a job, an interview, or that any resume will pass a specific applicant tracking system. AI output may contain errors — you are responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before use.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes to these terms
We will update the date at the top of this page whenever these terms change. If we make a material change to how we handle your content, your money, or your rights, we will email you before it takes effect.
Who we are and governing law
GroundedResume is operated by Ashraf Alkishawi, a sole proprietor located in the State of Florida, United States. You can reach us at support@groundedresume.com.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
